New Neighbors are Welcome

The Sisters of Saint Joseph work so that All May Be One.

In this spirit we work to make our new neighbors feel welcome in a new country and new city. A major city like Philadelphia can be an intimidating place for any new comer, but even more so for families trying to make a living in a new culture and speaking a different language. Knowing the hostility that some members of our society feel towards immigrants, our new neighbors are motivated to quickly learn our language and become full citizens of our country. The SSJ Welcome Center provides classes to teach our neighbors the skills needed to learn our language and culture, we offer them encouragement and resources in finding employment and assistance in navigating the school systems. The Sisters of Saint Joseph truely seek to make all feel welcome.
